The Life Vest is a cardioverter defibrillator worn like a vest. It monitors your heart rhythm continuously. If you have a life-threatening heart rhythm, it can deliver a shock to restore a normal heartbeat.
Why you are having this procedure (symptoms/indications):
Diagnosed ventricular tachycardia or ventricular fibrillation, cardiomyopathy, myocardial infarction

What to expect:
Wear vest except when taking a bath or shower. Special instructions are given when vest is given to the patient.
Risks:
Receiving a shock if life-threatening heart rhythm detected.
